Taranaki Artist Barbara Clegg sees creative colours everywhere.My images portray our wonderful iconic landscapes as ribbons of colour - a celebration of their uniqueness as rhythms of the land!
Besides the actual act of painting, I enjoy the research. The brushes. The process. I like it all.
My journey has led me deep into the New Zealand landscape where I still wander.
More recently, other images have been intruding and demanding expression, and, although I still welcome the opportunity to produce a landscape I am being diverted by these 'new' opportunities to challenge myself and my skills.

Currently, I feature in a book of Emerging Collectable Taranaki Painters, a Taranaki Art Community Trust project, and another compiled by Dale Copeland - RealTartists.
I regularly exhibit pieces at RealTart Gallery in New Plymouth and participate every year in the Taranaki Art Review, Opunake where I have been awarded a section prize and two highly commended prizes.
My images hang in Australia, Finland, United Kingdom and USA as well as throughout New Zealand.
