Jocelyn Hartley

I was born and grew up in Nelson, moving to Taranaki when I married. We have farmed at different locations on the coast for many years. I have been painting for 10 years. I paint in oils and acrylics, having no particular style but am now concentrating on making my art (hopefully), more modern. Living on the coast, one can’t help but be inspired by the intensity of the weather, scenery, mountain and sea. I feel this is reflected in the strength of colour in my work. My work is on display in a number of public places, including The Devon Hotel, The Okurukuru Winery, The Gables (Taranaki Society of Arts) and the Real TArt Gallery.
